The Women's and Children's Hospital is located on the traditional lands for the Kaurna people, and we respect their spiritual relationship with their Country. We also acknowledge that the Kaurna people are the custodians of the Adelaide region, and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

The ‘block and stack’ plans for our new hospital on the Barracks site have been released.

The plans map out where clinical services and departments could be located within each of the new building’s 10 levels. The ‘block and stack’ plans are available here.

Our staff and consumer engagement has been integral in the development of these ‘block and stack’ plans.

Consultation on the proposed ‘block and stack’ plans has now closed.

More information about the Block and Stack can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions. The Block and Stack Plans, and an index, can be found on our Resources page.

We will continue to listen closely to all feedback and work in partnership with consumers and staff during this next stage of consultation to ensure we build a new hospital that is tailored to the needs of our patients and their families.
